UNHCR Tokyo Office Protection Unit Translation Internship Programme

Duration: 48 days from May 2017 (Exact dates are negotiable)
Deadline: 7 April 2017 (Fri)
Required Hours: Minimum of 2 days a week (either at UNHCR office or home). Students will be expected to attend one day orientation session at UNHCR office at the beginning of the program.
Language: English-Japanese
One day a week at UNHCR office, at home (or other locations) on other days.

 Translation skills.
 Knowledge of international and/or domestic laws preferred.
 Computer literate in standard software applications.
 Excellent proficiency in English (TOEFL IBT 90/ TOEIC 900), and Japanese (Native level) is essential

 Translation of documents. Interns will be assigned deadlines for each task. The types of the documents may include:
- UN legal/policy documents related to refugee protection.
- News articles and human rights reports regarding the country of origin of asylum- seekers.

Remuneration: Unpaid. Transportation cost may be covered under certain conditions.

Those who are short-listed will be contacted for a written test and an interview.
